Who are you?

Another question for the church people. Who are you on a regular day? Do you consider yourself a servant to the people around you or are you better than most of the people around you? You know, the sinners, the people who work for you, the people who live in lower income areas, the people who go to night clubs, the people who are divorced, the people who own the liquor stores, the people who buy from the liquor stores, the people of a different race, the people of different religions. Why don't you answer it honestly to yourself. No one will know. You may think it's okay, because you're a christian. You've been saved. You're a good person. Right! Well, Jesus said that there's no one good but God. Do you believe that? i do. i hate it when people say that they're good church going people. Listen, Jesus has called christian's to be servants. Not to think of themselves as better than anyone. True, we are created in the image of God and we are precious to Him. God paid a huge price for us, because we are of great worth to him. But don't confuse that with your worth compared to your brothers & sisters in this world. Consider what Peter said.

1 Peter 5:5 (NLT)

In the same way, you younger men must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, serve each other in humility, for
“God opposes the proud
    but favors the humble.”

Seriously, do we believe that or do we even care? Do we really take God seriously? i hope so. Please read the following verses. Jesus tells us who went home with God's favor & who didn't. Read your bible. You might find out that being a christian is not what you thought it was. Hopefully you will embrace your Savior. He cares deeply for you.

Luke 18:9-14 (MSG)

9-12 He told his next story to some who were complacently pleased with themselves over their moral performance and looked down their noses at the common people: “Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one a Pharisee, the other a tax man. The Pharisee posed and prayed like this: ‘Oh, God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, crooks, adulterers, or, heaven forbid, like this tax man. I fast twice a week and tithe on all my income.’

13 “Meanwhile the tax man, slumped in the shadows, his face in his hands, not daring to look up, said, ‘God, give mercy. Forgive me, a sinner.’”
14 Jesus commented, “This tax man, not the other, went home made right with God. If you walk around with your nose in the air, you’re going to end up flat on your face, but if you’re content to be simply yourself, you will become more than yourself.”

Listen, if you think you're better than anybody else, you are sadly mistaken & are heading in the wrong direction. God gives grace to the humble. Enough said.
